i got a dumbphone!

well, i did it. on a whim, i decided to just get a dumbphone.

i opted for a dumb.co phone, because it was cheap and accessible for such a radical lifestyle change. i was honestly expecting it to be a little more challenging to make the switch, but there are enough tools i'm used to having built into the dumb.co phone that i'm actually not missing my smartphone at all. in fact, i'm pretty much just leaving my phone in my pocket for the most part, just using it to send text messages throughout the day (which, to be fair, is about all i used my smartphone for before, aside from doom scrolling various web pages).

i'm getting more and more interested in starting an offline group in my city, as well, but i've never started anything like this before, and am also quite the introvert. the idea of starting anything group oriented is scary to me. i do think it would be worth it though, to meet people who are also wanting to just get outside more and talk and share real life things. has anyone here done that (shoot me an email if you have and it worked well, or well even if it didn't work well... my email is on the about page).

i dunno, i'm just tired of seeing all of my fellow humans on public transit glued to their phones, looking annoyed to be around other human beings. i want to be able to say hi to people and meet new people, and build new communities.

i also love the camera. its a super basic cell phone camera like the ones i remember before i had a smartphone. it takes very tiny images that quite frankly look like shit but i dunno, i still really love them for all their shittiness and imperfections. i'm going to try to take some photos with it and make a small zine of them. i shared one on my new /photo page!

well, i'm going to go read my book before going to bed! goodnight internet.
