take a nap
it was 56 degrees today and i felt more human than i have in the past couple days. most of that is that i am getting through a bug i caught over the weekend. monday and tuesday were spent mostly at home, watching bad tv and drinking too much water, trying to just feel alright. i went to work today and felt a little woozy in the morning, and cut the day short at lunch to go take a nap. i'm not sure if its a post-covid thing, or if i'm just getting older, or what, but getting sick sucks so much more now. i think its a little bit of everything.
after my nap, i got my camera bag together and drove over to anyfolk. tonight's was really good, and i think, honestly, i'm starting to finally feel more at ease on my own in this city. i still sat alone for the most part, but actually did talk to a few people and had a good time, aside from just photographing the event.
i shared a few older photos on my website today, from a previous anyfolk, as well as some from my archives. i've been enjoying going back and seeing how i've changed as a photographer, and also how i'm similar. more on all this later. i need to go to bed now.
in short, this week i have learned (relearned? reminded) myself that there are a few things that are really vital to living a good life.
- limit alcohol consumption
- nap often and well
- don't use mainstream social media (or scroll based apps), just don't do it.
- actually, just use the internet from your computer, at a desk, at home.
- take photos of everything
- be passionate about it all. don't half ass shit.
good night.
